“I entered this field so I could apply my engineering knowledge to understand and treat mechanical changes in the human eye, including retinal tears and retinal detachment, macular holes, leakage of fluid in age-related macular degeneration, diabetes, and other problems.

I am fascinated by the mechanisms that occur in the normal and diseased states of the eye. I hope to give my patients the time to hear their concerns so I can deliver state-of-the-art care to every individual who seeks my help.”

Retina Updates

Macular Hole Repair Prognosis

We reviewed our surgical outcome data to predict the degree of visual acuity improvement based on the pre-operative visual acuity.

Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration

We are developing a new technique based on angiogram studies to assess why some eyes seem to respond more readily to treatment than others. Work is ongoing to provide clinical value to these methods.
